Penny Bond, B.S., M.H.S.

Penny is a wise, compassionate health professional who specializes in relieving pain and supporting her clients in achieving optimum well-being.

Before founding Healing Innovations in 2005, she was a social worker working with adults and children with disabilities. Penny holds a masters degree in Health Sciences from Western Carolina University and is a certified Scenar therapist at the advanced level through the Russian Scenar Academy.

"I’m a polio survivor. At two years old, I contracted polio and developed paralysis in my left foot. All my life, I have had to deny my body to live the normal life I wanted, a life that included family and career.

In 1987, I was diagnosed with Post Polio Syndrome, a condition that affects polio survivors anywhere from 10 to 40 years after the initial infection and is characterized by pain, fatigue, slow and progressive muscle weakness. Instead of pushing my way through discomfort, I now had to take care of myself in new ways.

Pain and fatigue became a huge challenge for me. None of the traditional medical options worked including NSAIDs, physical therapy, and immobalization.

By 2004, I was out of options. I decided to try a healing alternative recommended by a friend, the Scenar device. I was stunned with the results--pain free for the first time in 15 years! As I healed, friends wanted to know more about what I was doing to feel better. I decided to become a Scenar practitioner in order to provide this amazing opportunity for recovery to others. In 2005, Healing Innovations was born."
